As FJORD continues to feature artists, we have strayed from the conventional, traditional “artist” to find a different kind: a photographer. Nir O. is a grade 11 student at WCI who is in the photography class. He likes the class because it allows him to think outside of the box.
He explained, “I am taking three AP [Advanced Placement] sciences which are all so structured, and this class gives me a chance to be free to do whatever pleases me.”
He likes photography because he can show others his view on ordinary things around him. Looking through someone else’s point of view can give an audience an interesting perspective. His goal is “to capture things in an interesting light,” and he likes photographing nature and bringing out the beauty in things people may have otherwise looked over.
