The senior boys volleyball team at WCI really shined this year with an outstanding regular season record and an even more impressive playoff run. The senior boys, lead by Mr. Speiran, almost finished their season perfectly, going 11-1, losing their only game to the senior boys at Preston in their second last game of the season.
In the playoffs, WCI went up
against Huron Heights in the first round beating them in 4 out of the 5 sets, this set off a winning streak. WCI continued to take down Blue vale and moved into the finals to go up against Preston in the WCSSAA finals, beating them 3 out of the 4 sets and bringing home the trophy. After becoming WCSSAA champs, the WCI boys went on to the CWOSSA tournament and faced Blue vale, Owen sound and John F Ross and managed to beat all of them, going on to face Saint Benedict in the finals of the CWOSSA tournament. The boys managed to win all three sets and beat Saint Benedict to win their second CWOSSA title in the last 6 years.
The senior boys hoped to continue their streak and bring home the OFSAA title, but unfortunately, they weren’t able to. Losing their first two games put them in the lower pool, coming up just short of an almost perfect season. Either way, the Senior boys should be very proud of bringing home two titles and having an almost perfect season. Great season boys and good luck next year!
