Photo Essay: My Culture, My Identity

 Who am I?

I am a wandering soul

Without directions

In a world full of misconceptions,

Where my religion and race

Determine what I face.

What am I?

A soul with beliefs and values

Acquired from a place I once called home.

With griefs and rues,

My identity and culture arose

Like a rose blooming in the summer where it belongs.

But my growing sense of belonging

To where I’ve never been

Wasn’t all colourful and abloom.

This is my culture, my identity.
