In Downtown Kitchener, MT Space celebrates 10 years of IMPACT International Theatre Festival. Impact celebrates diverse theatre that sometimes tackles heavy subjects or teaches us about different parts of history. It was founded by Majid Bou-Matar, who sought to find theatre for all cultures.
There were a few bumps in the road before the festival could kick off. There were major budget cuts that ended with three shows being cut from the festival; Hanane Hajj Ali’s Jogging, Compagnie Lima La’s Fatma, Itai Erdal, and Dima Alansari and Ker Wells’ This Is Not A Conversation. Another show, The B Party was unable to stay in, but the two actors offered to MC the Festival’s opening cermony. An anonymous “angel donor” gave $20 000 to fund MT Space’s very own show, Amal.
Below are the Highlights and the performances of the party.
