Sam’s Mocktail Hour: The Fruity Mocktail

Fruity Mocktail with grape and blueberry stirrers. Photo taken by Sam D.

A wonderfully fizzy and sweet drink, accompanied by a fruity treat.

Prep: 5 mins

Serves: 4

  1. Handful of green grapes
  2. Handful of blueberries
  3. 4 tablespoon grenadine1
  4. 300-400ml orange juice
  5. Sparkling water

Will also need:

  1. 4 bamboo skewers

Step 1: Thread2 the grapes and blueberries onto the skewer to make stirrers.

Step 2: Pour the grenadine3 into four glasses. Tip the glasses to the side, and gently pour the orange juice4 down the inside of each glass, so that the orange juice sits on top of the grenadine.

Step 3: Top up with sparkling water5, add the stirrers, and serve.

  1. Grenadine is a tart and sweet non-alcoholic bar syrup, typically made from pomegranate.
  2. Stick a piece of fruit through the skewer on the thin end, and slide all the way down to the thick end. Repeat, alternating grapes and blueberries, until about half of the skewer is covered.
  3. About 1 tablespoon per glass.
  4. About 100ml per glass.
  5. Pour in the same way as the orange juice.
